Before you start your daffodils there are five success factors you need to consider:
- Is my climate right?
- Do I get the right amount of sunlight?
- Can you grow daffodils in this dirt?
- Water?
- Other nutrients
Is my climate right?
Short answer: enter your zip code or postal code here and click OK:
Long answer: daffodils of course there are many varieties of daffodil and there is no single answer to this question. In general, daffodils need warm(ish) summers and cold(ish) winters. So they don’t generally perform well in the interior of Alaska or Miami, although of course there are exceptions.
Do I get the right amount of sunlight?
Short answer: you need “full sun” or at least “partial sun” to grow daffodils. They may bloom for a single season in “partial shade
or “full shade,” but they probably won’t bloom again.
